Richard specializes in customized system development, portfolio management, load forecasting, data historians, control systems, commodity and energy trading and risk management consulting. Richard has provided project management, technical leadership, system development, system implementation, process, and strategy assistance to a multitude of energy companies in the United States.

Richard has spent over 17 years in the utilities sector in a variety of complex financial, technical and consulting positions.

Richard has overseen the development and implementation of customized software solutions for large OT projects, customer information systems, forecasting systems, data historians, and control systems for multiple energy companies – including power generation, transmission utilities and distribution utilities.  He also has experience designing

Richard’s main area of expertise includes:

  • Control System and Data Historian system selection, implementation, optimization Customer Information Systems, and Energy Forecasting Systems.
  • Customized interface solutions for data historians, control systems, and energy trading and risk management systems.
  • Energy Accounting/Finance, comprehensive unbilled A/R analysis, Energy Imbalance Markets

Richard’s main technical skills includes:

  • Advanced database design and analysis using SQL Server, Oracle, and MS Access
  • Advanced analysis using MS Excel, PI AF/EF, PI DataLink and PI ProcessBook
  • Advanced data historian experience with OSIsoft PI
  • Visualization experience with PI Coresight/Vision
  • Energy Management System and SCADA experience with Alstom and Siemens
  • Accounting Information System experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics SL, Oracle, JD Edwards and QuickBooks Enterprise.
  • Trading and risk management systems experience with OpenLink Endur, and Allegro
  • Systems administration experience with Windows 2012 R2

Richard has a M.S. degree in Industrial Technology and a B.B.A. degree in Accounting from Texas State University.  He also has a B.S. degree in Computer Information System from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.  Richard is a proud recipient of an Academic Excellence Award given to outstanding graduate students by the College of Science at Texas State University.
